Christmas Eve

The second the kids got up they were begging to open presents. We finally caved and let them open their presents from Grandpa Mike and Grandma Dixie. Thanks grandma and grandpa!!

Then we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Bina's, went to church, the boys and Cyndy made a yummy dinner of short ribs, Madelyn took a short nap, and it was finally time for presents! A couple more photos for mommy in their cute Christmas outfits before church - not too painful!

Can you tell that Ella is excited??

Collin and Ella passed the time while Madelyn was napping watching an Elf movie.

It's almost time.....

And they're off! The kids got a bunch of cool stuff and loved ripping through the packages. Ella kept opening presents and saying "a package just what I always wanted"! Madelyn was a present opening expert. She did not need any help at all!

We ended the night with the annual tradition of Grandpa reading "The Night Before Christmas".

The kids were upstairs getting their teeth brushed, when we heard a noise outside. Mommy looked out on the deck and saw SANTA. I yelled to the kids to come down quick. They were in such shock they didn't even know where to go....they kept running up the stairs, down the stairs......finally they came to the patio door, just in time to see santa wave to them and disappear into the backyard. Collin was awestruck - he kind of waved and just stood there. Ella was literally jumping for joy. I told the kids to hurry and get their boots on and go outside. As soon as I said that Ella freaked out. All of a sudden she was terrified, she was visibly shaking. I don't know why she got so scared. They hurried out, only to find a set of footprints in the snow leading part way down the backyard and then mysteriously just stopped. "Santa must have gotten in his magic sleigh here", they thought. We told them to hurry and get to bed, santa can't leave presents if you are still awake. Hurry and get to bed now and santa will have time to bring presents to our house. They raced upstairs to get to bed. Collin was very concerned about getting to bed fast so santa could bring their presents. Ella was still just terrified. She didn't want to go to bed. After a while they were feeding off each other, and both of them just wanted to go home. Apparently seeing santa makes quite an impact. So around 11pm we packed up and headed home.
