We had a beautiful first part of April! The kids have had so much fun playing with all the kids in the neighborhood again after a long winter.
Do you think they could fit anymore kids in that little sandbox??
One day Collin, Ella, Madelyn and mom played for 2 hours in the backyard with nothing more than a little orange pool and some sand. Madelyn had a blast splashing around in the water. Collin and Ella literally spent 2 hours transporting water from the pool (using their squirter guns) to the sand box to make "wet sand". I never really figured out what the big deal was about the wet sand - they didn't really build anything with it, they just really had so much fun making wet sand.
I am in awe sometimes at the simple pleasure kids have! I have really tried to step back a little recently and just enjoy watching the kids play. They love each other so much and so genuinely it really is just amazing! The three of them play together like little peas in a pod - they truly are each others best friends! We are so blessed to have the family that we have and I am trying not to take a minute of it for granted. To soak it up for all those years when they would rather be with anybody other than their brothers and sisters or heaven forbid mom and dad!
