The kids and I spent a week in Colorado visiting Kim right before Easter this year. We flew home Saturday night and got home around midnight before Easter. I was afraid that would make for an interesting day, but all went great. The kids woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had come. We went to church, and then came home to do our annual treasure hunt. The kids are starting to remember some of the traditions now, and this one had been eagerly awaited. Each kid got a turn figuring out the clues and finding the egg with the next clue that would ultimately lead them to the treasure at the end. Collin was able to read most of his clues this year - which was new, and even Madelyn got in on the action and found a few of the eggs (with a little help from her brother and sister). At the end of the treasure hunt the kids found a new inflatable water slide.
After our treasure hunt we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Telega's house for more Easter fun. We had a beautiful day and the kids enjoyed another (more traditional) Easter egg hunt there. Madelyn had really figured it out by now (she got a little practice in Colorado as well).
Even though our day was a busy one, and we were all pretty tired by the end, it was a fabulous day. We were reminded of the sacrifice that the Lord made for us on the cross and the grace that he has shown through this act of love. We spent the day enjoying the beautiful weather and spending time with our family - I couldn't think of a better way to spend Easter!
