Our First "Family Night"

We had our first official "family night" tonight.  Madelyn set the mood by choosing "Baby Beluga" to listen to.  Collin chose to play the dice game.  He was the first winner, mommy second, then Ella and last daddy.  But the real winner was Madelyn - she had her first taste of popcorn!  Daddy taught a lesson about the "sneaky snake" (Adam and Eve in the Garden) and how it's important to obey God - and your mommy and daddy :) !  Mommy said a prayer and we topped the night off with Ella's choice of treat - OREOs.  The kids had a blast, and I think mom and dad did too!  Thanks Kim for the great idea!

P.S.  Notice Ella's tooth :(

Madelyn's Birthday!

For Madelyn's birthday we let her dig into her cake.  She really wasn't sure what to think.  She didn't really want to eat it, and she didn't really want to get away.  The only thing she was sure of is that she DID NOT like it when she got frosting on her feet.  Collin and Ella of course thought it was hilarious that she was putting her feet in the cake.

Collin and Ella at Swimming Lessons

Collin and Ella are both in swimming lessons now.  Collin can swim the front crawl and the backstroke all by himself - he even adds a side breath!  He has become a pretty good swimmer.  We've been told Ella is the youngest kid that they have ever had in her level (Littles 3).  She is a maniac....she flips and flops and spends the majority of her time with her head under the water.  Although her form leaves you laughing, she is able to "tiger paddle" (what us older folks used to call doggie paddle) independently and then flip to her back for a rest.  She can also float on her back all by herself!  They both love swimming and are absolute fish.  Snorkeling in Mexico is going to be a blast!

They both love to take showers after lessons.  If they swam really good - they will ask if they can have 2 showers!

Side breath an all!
